Jose Santos               Owner & Operator

Founder of Universal Flight Training, Jose Santos holds a Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI), Instrument (CFII), Multi-Instructor (MEI) and an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) with more than 10,000 hours, with half of those instructing new pilots.  Jose graduated from ComAir Academy (Sanford, FL) in 1989.

Randall Monson        Chief Flight Instructor 

Randall Monson started flying when he took a Discovery Flight at Albert Whitted airport in St. Petersburg, Florida.   His passion for aviation began during that first flight and guided him to a career in the airlines.   Randall graduated from National Aviation Academy in Clearwater, Florida where he received his Airframe & Powerplant and FCC Radio communications licenses.  After completing his Private, Instrument and Commercial ratings for single and multi-engine aircraft, he became a Certified flight Instructor (CFI) and Instrument Instructor (CFII) in 2000.  Randall worked at Delta Airlines for over 20 years.  He retired from Delta Air lines in 2019 and joined Universal Flight Services where he is continuing with his passion for aviation and enjoys teaching others.   His experiences with a major airline provide students with the knowledge and experience to realize their dream flying.  Safety, reliability and consistency are the major pillars that Randall learned while working at the airlines and guide all his decisions to ensure an exciting experience for all at Universal Flight services flight training and charter services.

Sherman Bilbo                Flight Instructor

Sherman Bilbo started flying in 1972. Since then, he obtained his Private, Instrument, Commercial, Multi Engine and Instructor ratings. He instructs students for Sport Plane, Private, Instrument and Commercial ratings. He has over 10,000 hours of flying time. Since discovering his passion for instruction, he has over 8,000 hours of instruction time with over 500 hours in sports planes.Originally from Staten Island NY Sherman has spent most of his life in Florida. Shermans’s focus is on general aviation and the ability to share his vast experiences and knowledge with others.

Dan Skoda                 Flight Instructor

Dan Skoda started flying with the US Navy, serving in Southeast Asia. After Vietnam, he worked in retail for more than 30 years, while earning his civilian Private Pilot License, Instrument Rating and Commercial License. Dan started his own management consulting company and continued his flight training, attaining his Flight Instructor (CFI) and Instrument Instructor (CFII) ratings. Dan has more than 2000 hours in the military and more than 3600 hours of civilian flight hours. "I really enjoy working with pilots to help them get their ratings and have had great success training Private, Instrument and Commercial students. Flying is both fun and a privilege, but I keep a constant focus on safety. You are always learning through instruction and experience.

Nick Frederick         Flight Instructor

Nick Frederick started his flight training at Watertown airport in northern New York. He moved to Florida in 2016 and finished his ratings in 2018. He hopes to eventually fly corporate jets or for the airlines.

William Parker         Flight Instructor

Will started his flight training at the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport In September of 2018 and joined UFT in July 2019 to complete his CFI rating. While instructing Will is continuing his education at the University of South Florida. Will’s goal is to join a regional airline and eventually fly long-haul cargo with a major airline.

Wesley Davis         Flight Instructor

Wesley Davis is a Florida native, born in Dunedin, Florida. He graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Sciences. After graduating, he decided to pick up flying for fun. Once he obtained his private pilot's license, he chose to attend ATP flight school to accelerate his future as a pilot and as a flight instructor. He enjoys seeing his students's develop into confident and skillful pilots ready to navigate the skies! 

Chris Dubois          Flight Instructor

Chris Dubois is a native of St Petersburg, FL and grew up with a love of aviation. He served 7 years in the United States Air Force first as a maintainer on EC-130 aircraft and would latter serve as a flight engineer on the C-5 Galaxy. he began his private training in 2002 while being stationed in Tucson, AZ. He has previously trained at Delta Connection Academy in Sanford, FL. He enjoys Training new pilots because its rewarding to see people learning one of the most rewarding skills a person can learn and so few people get to accomplish. He hopes to fly heavy aircraft in the future for an airline or air charter operation.

Rick Hendrick          Flight Instructor

Rick Hendrick started flying 20 years ago and has continued to expand his flying experience.  After retiring from his Law Enforcement career, he started pursuing his full time flying career.  His desire is to stay with Universal Flight Services as a Flight Instructor and also to fly Corporate Flights with Universal Flight Services.

Robert Brehm         Flight Instructor

Robert is a Sarasota, Florida native who fell in love with aviation as a Civil Air Patrol cadet in 2005 at the age of 15. He earned a sport pilot certificate in 2010, only intending to fly for pleasure. He soon found enjoyment in teaching his friends about flying, and worked his way to a CFI certificate to help others in their aviation journey. Robert plans to work for the FAA as an Air Traffic Control Specialist in addition to teaching students to fly.
